6 Citizenship Theses
This is neither my proper work, nor is it my core message. Nonetheless, here are some citizenship theses, because I care about our common life in America, and pray that “we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” 1 Timothy 2.2.
1. Temporarily setting aside law and order, even for some extraordinary reason, won’t restore a commitment to law and order.
2. A “Pro-life” platform as political utility will be discarded as soon as it no longer gets votes.
3. Unconstitutional demagoguery won’t return America to constitutional restraint.
4. Character is destiny.
5. If you keep voting for the immediate “lesser evil” candidate, our destiny will still be wicked, because wicked candidates will continue to be our only options.
Only YOU can communicate YOUR convictions to the parties by refusing to support their inadequate candidates.
6. “Whataboutism” is a sign of resignation and decline. That party, caucus, movement that takes their own character most seriously, and refuses to tolerate disqualifying behavior in their own tribe will arch their group toward righteousness and justice, and will influence the atmosphere of our nation for a longer season.
