Join Nathan Hoff and David Wollan for A Voice from the Sacristy. The Gospel Reading for the Second Sunday of Easter is from John 20.19-31. The theme for this week is the urgency of the message for the preacher and the hearer and is taken from the fifth of six stanzas from the sacristy prayer at Ridderholmen Church in Stockholm, Sweden:
Let every sermon be preached as if it were to be the last,
both for thee and thy hearers;
Before every confessional service,
shrive thine own heart;
Thus shalt thou be established in grace;
The shepherd heart of the Saviour be thy model in the office of pastor,
thy joy under the burden,
and thy defense in the last accounting.
Dave Wollan is a pastor at Faith Lutheran in Hutchinson, MN, husband to Andrea, and father of four awesome kids. Dave loves being a part of the church, good coffee, and the Minnesota Vikings.
