Join Nathan Hoff for A Voice from the Sacristy. We are in ordinary time and the gospel reading is from Mark 6.1-13.
Columba Stewart OSB says, “Stability is about keeping on the path, not about chaining oneself to the starting post.”[1]Esther de Waal describes the paradox between faithful stability and the ongoing need to be open for change, “Stability, from the Latin word meaning to stand, means staying still, remaining firm, not necessarily in a geographic sense, but in a more fundamental sense of the interior holding firm, refusing to run away, recognizing that we are in this for the long haul and that we will stick it out to the end.”[2]
